"Vandura almost feels like therapy for the band, as they contemplate everything they’ve experienced, weigh out the good and the bad, before realising how much they love what they do. You can almost taste the open road at times as the imagery sets in, with both Jess and Greg’s vocals working well on their own or during the instances where they harmonise. The record is a pleasure to listen to with its strong melodies and structures making it impossible not to let the Americana/folk sound overtake you."

"The Rightly So recently dropped their self-titled debut album. Hailing from Buffalo, New York, the duo of Gregory Zeis and Jess Chizuk write and sing folk and Americana music with elements from gospel, SoCal soft rock and even pop tossed into the mixture. Their sound is charming and features lyrical originality that’s unusual for Americana-flavored music."

"While the Rightly So are still committed by the same folk-rock driven melodies, they do invite an electric touch to instrumentation, leaning further into the gospel and blues tinges of Americana than they did in 2017.

We are all the better for it, too. Zeis and Chizuk have always been rock-solid singer-songwriters. Given ample room to capitalize on their sound, they thrive. If anything remains generously the same here, it’s their stunning synergy. The Rightly So primarily “worked” in 2017 for Zeis and Chizuk’s infectious energy, and they “work” in 2019 for the same reason. Approaching Vandura, they showcase that same verve alongside a penchant for adaptability, becoming jacks-of-all-trades with a folk base. Throughout Vandura, they each rollick, rock, roll, and wail their way into the multifaceted Americana stratosphere with considerable results."

"The vocals give the listener a reward when it comes to looking for a shred of hope in a world that continues to move progressively in a more digital direction. The players are real musicians and they’re making real sacrifices."

"Though there’s no shortage of outfits playing this kind of alt-country meet Americana, The Rightly So do it much better than most of their peers, and this sophomore LP is certainly a contender for record of the year . . . 10/10."

"Vandura is warm, impassioned tribute to a life lived traveling and searching. There's a wholesome sweetness to their homeland rock that is endearing . . . These two must have really found the answer on the road."
